Choi Woong studied Modeling at Daekyeung University, laying the foundation for his entrance into the entertainment industry. He officially debuted in 2011, notably gaining early recognition as the model for the popular Bacchus energy drink commercial, which often features inspiring stories. This modeling work quickly led him to transition into acting.
He began accumulating credits in major series early on, including roles in the 2012 series Bridal Mask and the 2013 time-slip drama Nine: Nine Times Time Travel, where he played the lead villain's stoic secretary. He also starred in the drama Secret Love (2013).
