Frequently Asked Questions

Short answers to the most common questions about using iWatched, your data, and what’s coming next.

Getting started

New to iWatched? Start here.

  • What is iWatched?
iWatched is a simple, modern way to track the movies and shows you watch, save things to revisit, and highlight your favourites on a personal profile.
  • Do I need an account?
Yes. An account is required to save your activity, sync across devices, and manage your profile and privacy settings.
  • Is it free?
Yes. Core tracking features are free. Some optional or power-user features may evolve over time, but the basic diary will remain free to use.

Tracking & library

How to log what you watch and keep things organised.

  • How do I add a title?
Use search, open the title page, then use the quick actions row to mark it as Watched, Bookmarked, or Favourited using the checkmark, bookmark, and heart icons. Your profile and stats update automatically.
  • Can I edit or remove entries?
Yes. Open an item from your profile to change notes (where available), update your rating, or remove it from watched, bookmarked, or favourites.
  • What's the difference between Watched, Bookmarked, and Favourited?
Watched (checkmark) logs that you've seen it, Bookmarked (bookmark icon) saves it for later, and Favourited (heart) highlights the titles you love and want to feature.

Privacy & account

Control who can see your activity.

  • How is my data used?
Your data is used only to operate iWatched and provide features like stats, recommendations, and your profile. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service for full details.
  • Can I make my profile private?
Yes. Profiles can be Public, Friends-only, or Private. You can edit or delete any entry at any time from your profile.
  • Is there a community policy?
Yes. If you interact with others on iWatched, please follow the guidelines in our Community Policy. It covers respectful behaviour, acceptable content, and how reports are handled.

Data & sources

Where titles come from and how to fix issues.

  • Where does your data come from?
Posters and metadata are provided by The Movie Database (TMDb). This product uses the TMDb API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDb.
  • I can’t find a title — why?
It may be missing from TMDb or listed under a different regional title. Try alternate names or check TMDb directly to confirm how it’s listed.
  • How do I report incorrect info?
Use the “Report” link on a title page (which goes to TMDb), or contact iWatched support if something looks wrong inside the app.

Roadmap

Features that are planned but not available yet.

  • Can I import or export my data?
Import and export tools are on the roadmap, along with richer statistics, collaborative lists, and more options for personalising your profile.
